Last weeks quiz at the Rose and Crown Upton was raising funds for Christian Aid.
Half Time Quiz was won by the No Hopers, who had the lovely Rev Pheadra Pamphilon-Green helping.
Full Time Quiz went to a tie-break, between the No Hopers and The Oblong table, with The Oblong Table winning. Well Done!
Total raised £105. Thank you, to all who attended. Next weeks Quiz (Thursday 18th May) is Raising money for Breast Cancer. Quiz starts at 8.30pm. All Welcome.
BOWLS AND KURLING
Upton and Kexby Bowls and Kurling Annual presentation was held at the Rose and Crown Pub Upton, an excellent evening was had by all who attended.
The results in the Bowls section were,
2 Woods winner - John Alsop.
4 Woods winner - Stuart Barrow and Ron Sharpe.
4 Woods Single - Don Spittlehouse.
The Hazel Lawrence Trophy was won by Stuart Spriggens.
In the Kurling,
Sylvia Rose for the second year running was the winner of the Club Tournament.
Thank you to Cllr. Jesse Milne for presenting the trophies and to Jenny, Lawrence and the staff of the Rose and Crown for all their hard work and yet again another wonderful carvery.
.A meeting to discuss the Summer Fete is to be held on Thursday 18th May at the Rose and Crown at 7.30pm. please could each organisation send a representative. Unfortunately there won't be a quiz raising funds for the Christmas market after the meeting, as Breast Cancer have this slot booked. Thursday 25th May will be the date for the Christmas Market Quiz. Any raffle prizes would be appreciated.
