Members heard of a busy year with good speakers and enjoyable outings.
Mrs Ann Sharpe was thanked for arranging these and was presented with a bouquet of flowers.
Mrs Jane Anderson was elected as president, secretaries, Mrs
J.Fotheringham and Mrs J.Barrow, Treasurer, Mrs J.Littlewood. committee members W.Anibal, F.Lockwood, N.Prescott, L.Spur (programme
secretary) A.Taylor S.Barrett, and L.Bradley, Several non committee members also were elected to. positions The craft display of members work was brilliant, the overall winner,
voted by members, was M.Burden, the Whitton Rose bowl was presented to
Mrs Burden by Jean Johnson.
The visit to Gardeners World at NEC is almost a sell out, 4 sears left
on the bus.
The trip to Skegness on March 26th will leave at 8.05 for the W.I. Annual Meeting. A hand and foot massage evening will be held at the Rose and Crown on April 23rd.

5 members of the public attended the parish council meeting, held last
week. During the public forum, the burial ground was discussed and a site
meeting is be arranged in the near future at the ground. Mr. A.
Warrington has resigned as the burial ground secretary and Mrs Stella
Curtis has been appointed to the position. Councillor J.Milne gave a report from WLDC. The new street light was now in position, but not yet connected. The clerk had complained, again, to the county Council re footpath 50 and had also sent details of flooding to solicitors .
The village hall secretary had written asking for volunteers to attend the Annual Meeting of the hall in May as committee members are desperately needed.
The community plan fun day will be held on April 12th in the Village
hall and playing field from 2.30p.m. to 10p.m. This is a day for residents of both villages to put any ideas forward for activities they would like to see and the villages organisation will be on
display to give residents a chance to see what goes on in the community.
The parish meeting (for all residents of Upton) will be held on May 6th the annual parish council meeting will take place on May 16th. Both at 7.30p.m.

Last week was in aid of L.I.V.E.S. £80 was raised Winners were the "No Hopers" & "Whatever". This week is for the Community Day.
