Village News | 16th February 2014

W.I.
The last meeting saw Dave Bussey, the former Radio Lincs. presenter give a talk on his life in the Navy, also as a radio host and how one career led to the other, he started & finished with jokes , enjoyed by all with what was an interesting & enjoyable evenings entertainment.

CRICKET
The A.G.M. was held last week with the following officials being elected for the ensuing year. President John Thurlby, Chairman Pete Rushton, Vice Chair & Groundsman John Alsop, Secretary Dave Farrow, Treasurer Nick Ward-Lowry, Junior Rep. Toby Roberts. Captains, Wed. Will Birkett, Sun. Will Cawte.

KURLING
Upton & Kexby were represented in the Lincs tournament held at Lincoln, with Don & Liz Spittlehouse coming runners-up in the trophy for the plate.

QUIZ
Last week was for Macmillan Cancer, raising funds to assist Tony Hall & Co. climbing Ben Nevis for this charity, the winners were "The No Hopers" £229 being raised, next week is for the Community day on 12 April, before the quiz there is a meeting to discuss the day's events At 7-30 in the Rose & Crown.

Next Sun. 23rd. Church, Morning Prayer at 9-30 Chapel, Service with Mr. G. Dixon at 10-30
