FRIENDSHIP CLUB

The club members were given an illustrated talk on Thursday on the
History of the Olympics by Mrs Linda Hotchkiss.

She told of many strange happenings at some of the past games also
of the many firsts over the years.

Next week the club have been invited to Donna and Steve Hutchinson
for tea.

The club are to do the raffle at the Christmas Market on December
11th 6.30 in the Rose and Crown.   Next weeks quiz in the Rose and Crown
is for club funds.

WOMENS INSTITUTE.

A member of the W.I, Mrs Jean Morley gave an interesting talk on her visit to China.

Mrs Julie Barrow was the projectionist.  Members heard of Mrs Morley's' visit to Beijing and other cities, the cultures and the pandas.

Prior to the talk a faith harvest supper was enjoyed by all.

Mrs Jane Anderson, president, thanked all who had supported the Macmillan coffee morning, which raised over £1,200.00, A fashion show by Barron Bou of Gainsborough will be held on October 24th in the Village Hall. Proceeds to be shared between W.I funds and Breast Cancer Research.  She also told members of the Jubilee seat dedication to Jane and Colin Hutchinson on October 21st at 11.30a.m. approx.

Next months meeting on November 14th is from Special Edition Chocolates.

CHRISTMAS MARKET
This year's market is to be held on Tuesday 11th December not Thursday 13th as originally planned.

QUIZ
Last week's quiz was for McMillan nurses. The winners were Mazza's
Marvels and The Oblong Quips, £145 was raised. This week's quiz is for
the Friendship Club.
