Spring/Summer 2012

The parish council meet every other month, on the second Tuesday of the month.

The first half hour is a public forum, when all on electoral roll are welcome to attend, and put forward any views they may have.

The PARISH MEETING (for all public) is on May 1st at 7p.m. in the Methodist Schoolroom. This is an opportunity to see how the council works (or sometimes tries to work).

PARISH COUNCIL AGM IS ON MAY 8TH AT 7P.M.

Queens Diamond Jubilee

The Council is having an input into the Diamond Jubilee. Events will take place on June 4th, the Beacon will also be lit (as yet time not known). A flier to all houses will be delivered soon.

Upton Chapel

There will be a flower festival throughout the weekend of 28th/29th April.

On the Saturday, Jenny Fotheringham will attempt to play every hymn in the Methodist hymn book.

Jenny would like to hear your favourites.

This is to celebrate 190 years of the chapel.

Harold Jubbs Memorial Trust

This trust is for all residents of Upton and Kexby, for education, sport and special needs. All applications telephone 838369.

Horticultural Society

The 50th show will be held on September 9th in the Village Hall.

A flier will be delivered soon to all residents about the show and other activities.

Friendship Club

The Friendship Club meet in the Methodist Schoolroom every other Thursday. Speakers, bingo or just a chat, all welcome.

Held in the Rose and Crown every Thursday 9p.m. for local and county charities

All Saint's Church

Services every Sunday at 9:30A.M. except on the third Sunday when it is at 8:30A.M.

9:30A.M. Communion Service on Wednesdays during the summer months.

Coffee evening at Rushtons (17 Main Street) for Church and MacMillan Cancer Support Funds on 25th May at 6:30P.M.

The W.I. Meet every second Wednesday in the Village Hall. All are very welcome.

Coffee and chat every Monday morning 9-12A.M. in the Village Hall.

Police attend on the first Monday of the month.

Your West Lindsay Councillor J. Milne also attends the coffee and chat morning on a regular basis.

Nicky at the Post Office is holding a coffee morning on April 19th for Children with cancer in the Village Hall during post office opening hours.
