Village News 08 July 2011

JOLLY BOY'S OUTING

The annual trip to the Riviera of the East coast took place on Sat 2nd July when 16 members headed for a fun day out in Skegness.  As usual the day started with the quiz on the bus, this was won by Peter and Audrey
Rushton with the Three Degrees Team winning the booby prize. Once we arrived at our destination we headed straight for the beach where a very welcome paddle was enjoyed by all, after a picnic on the beach
it was the first of the challenges. This was the 2p challenge which was won by Dave Farrow, the next was the main competition of the day, the crazy golf competition this year's ladies champion is Terry Thurlby
and the men's champion is Dave Farrow. After all this excitement it was time for a cup of tea or an ice cream.After soaking up more of the wonderful sunshine it was time for a quick pint or two before
finishing off the super day with fish and chips.

COFFEE MORNING Coffee Morning to be held today 14th July at the home of Mr and Mrs Rushton between 10am and 12 noon in aid of the African emergency appeal £1 entrance fee.

QUIZ Last weeks quiz was for the Village Hall Dave Farrow was the quiz
master the winners were the Universally Challenged, The Oblong Table
plus One. £110 was raised This weeks quiz is for Gainsborough Lions
Charity.
